PRIMARY SCHOOL BOOK CLUB AUGUST PICK!
Fire Girl, Forest Boy was an engaging, interesting story which had a background story encouraging the reader to consider their impact on the environment.
With a setting of the Peruvian jungle, we followed Maya and Raul on their merged adventures to save the forest. I particularly enjoyed the short chapters which alternated view between both characters; it made the book feel fast paced and kept me wanting to read on! There were twists and turns to the story, which I didn’t see coming.
In the book, alongside the story it included facts about the rainforest and its animals which made it feel really authentic. This was definitely one of my favourite reads of the year!
