This is a wonderfully illustrated poetry book which focuses on the beauty of British nature.
It’s easy for us to forget about what we see nearly every day, but the poems Robert McFarlane have written really demonstrate – especially to children in the generation of technology being at the forefront – that we should not take our environment for granted.

Each acrostic poem focuses on a different aspect of the world around us: both plants and animals. I love that these are a lovely example to children that an acrostic poem can have more depth to it than a simple one liner after each letter!

The imagery each poem creates alone would be a fantastic read, but coupled with the images it’s not just a great classroom tool, but just a lovely book to own.
