I had been recommended this several times before I finally picked it up!
This was an exciting premise for a story; the idea of a Malamander already had me hooked before I began reading. Both main characters were likeable and you rooted for them throughout – even when they did something you didn’t like, you knew they’d make the right choice in the end!
There were twists throughout the story which kept you guessing what would happen right until the end. It would be lovely to see a sequel, with a new adventure for Violet & Herbie to solve!
However, my favourite part of the book though was definitely the idea of a Book Depository where the Mermonkey prescribes books to each person who enters. I wish this really did exist!
