This is a beautifully illustrated graphic novel, by the author of The Murderer’s Ape.
Sally Jones is kidnapped from the jungle as only a baby gorilla, following which she travels the world through being sold. A jewel thief, a circus and a bar owner all own her at one point; we see Sally’s reactions to all of these people and how they treat her.
Her most important relationship is with Chief, which develops through the story and leaves our hearts feeling full in the end. It felt like every part of the story was really well linked together, with the plot coming to full circle by the end of Sally’s Legend.
This is a must-read for any fans of Murderer’s Ape, or anyone planning to read it soon!
