I absolutely loved the premise of this book: a world where bees no longer exist. Because pollination is not happening, children are sent to do the job at farms in the area surrounding Kairos City.
Shifa and Themba are kept together and travel to a Freedom Fields site where they discover all is not as it was told to them. I enjoyed every element of the story, but thought it didn’t delve into each challenge or situation in enough detail. This book (in my opinion!) would have made a perfect trilogy.
It was fast-paced, moving the story on quite frequently when I wanted to know more about situations and see them explored further!
