Seven Ghosts – Chris Priestly

Stars: *****

I absolutely loved the way this book was written! When Jake wins a writing competition, he is selected to visit a haunted stately home where seven ghosts reside and to inspire them, they’re told the stories as they get the grand tour.

Each of the seven ghosts have come from a different period of time, and so have their stories. Each of them were written in a different style which echoes the formality and language of the era, which I thought really helped to add atmosphere to the book.

Each individual story was interesting to read (my favourite was Ghost 2!) as the ghosts had very different backgrounds and circumstances!

I also loved the ending; I always think I can figure out what’s going to happen but I definitely didn’t see this coming at all!
