Anatomicum – Katy Wiedemann & Jennifer Z Paxton

Stars: *****

Gone are the days of boring non-fiction books just full of facts. This is a beautifully illustrated, comprehensive book about the body which is a treat for the mind, as well as a visual delight.

Katy and Jennifer have created a science book which is accessible yet really enhances your scientific understanding.

The book is split into handy sections about different systems within the body with an initial explanation and then a break down of the different organs or important parts within it. Despite the use of technical language, it is explained in a way that makes the reader understand it and gain knowledge about processes.

There are also accompanying footnotes for each image to explain what you are seeing.

I learnt so many new facts whilst reading this book; I can’t wait to use it as part of my science topic next term!
