Sprinkle of Sorcery – Michelle Harrison

Stars: *****

I absolutely LOVED ‘A Pinch of Magic’ when I read it – it was full of adventure, family and of course…magic! So when I found out that there was a sequel I couldn’t wait to continue the story of the Widdershins sisters.

The story, despite being a sequel, felt fresh and exciting. Betty, Fliss and Charlie find themselves on a new adventure when Charlie’s identity is mistaken. Along with Willow, who needs to clear her father’s name, they need to use a magical, mysterious map to find a winking witch.

With strong themes of friendship, this action-packed story keeps you wondering throughout. When you think you’ve figured it all out, you’ll come across a twist in the tale that you didn’t see coming. Michelle has a way of creating suspense which continues until the final page.

The sisters’ personalities are all even more developed throughout this book, and you find yourself wondering which sister you are most similar to. How might you react if you were faced with the challenges they need to overcome.

With way more than a sprinkle of excitement, this is definitely a book that leaves its trace in your mind.
