Beyond the Burrow is a gorgeous picture book which children will love to read! When little rabbit finds a very juicy carrot for breakfast, they tug it out…but with tricky consequences! Rabbit ends up down the wrong hole and needs to find their way home. On this adventure, they meet non-rabbit friends that show her how to get home, as well as learning how to overcome obstacles and challenges.

Alongside all of this, they learn more about themselves and how capable they are. Just because a rabbit doesn’t usually do it, does it mean they can’t? The world is sometimes bigger than the one you know.

Not only is this a lovely story following Rabbit on a physical journey, and one of their own discovery, Jessica has illustrated it with gorgeous images for each page. I love the style of her work!

Each page has so much to discover and discuss on the page. Each rabbit has their own expression or action; you could spend so much time on each page just exploring the art. I especially love the image of the rabbit warren with the different little ‘rooms’.

This is the perfect story for spring 🐰
