Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Today is ‘Tell A Fairy Tale Day’ which is perfectly fitting for this fabulous book: Snowy White. A cool re-telling of a classic fairy tale, this is a brilliant book to modernise Snow White for a new generation.
Kingsley is the finest cat in the land, but when Snowy White arrives – a beautiful and kind cat – he is determined to get rid of her and take back his rightful place. But despite Kingley’s attempts, Snowy and her seven friends show him there’s more to life than being the best cat in town.
I loved the way the tale was presented – not only does it focus on how important it is to be kind to others, the theme of recycling and being tidy was one I think will resonate with the reader in a world where we are being kinder to the Planet Earth, too.

Farshore have created some fantastic teacher resources to help utilise this book in the classroom which are very useful to not only explore the book (especially with World Book Day coming soon!) but also themes of courage, friendship and recycling which encompass a range of curriculum subjects. Picture books are perfect for all year groups, and I know this book would be fantastic to look at with Year 6 and compare it to other versions of the story.
